  • Bill Walshe

    Bill Walshe

    Chief Executive Officer (Steering Committee)

    A 20-year veteran to the luxury hospitality industry, Bill provides Viceroy Hotel Group with a truly global perspective, bringing extensive senior management experience with leading international hospitality companies, including Jumeirah Group, The Doyle Collection and Kempinski Hotels and Resorts. As the CEO of the Doyle Collection, Bill lead the brand through its reinvention into a modern luxury urban hotel group that includes eleven hotels in the USA and Europe.


    Prior to The Doyle Collection, he served as Chief Marketing Officer for Dubai based Jumeirah Group at a time of tremendous growth for the international luxury hospitality group.

    Bill steps into this role at an exciting time of accelerating growth for Viceroy Hotel Group. Given our 2012 openings in New York, San Francisco and the Maldives, and our upcoming openings of Viceroy Istanbul and Viceroy Bodrum, Bill's international experience and recognition as a leader within the industry will enable him to lead the continued growth and development of Viceroy Hotel Group.

    Anton Bawab

    Regional President (Steering Committee)

    Located in the Abu Dhabi office, Anton Bawab oversees the operations and the growth of Viceroy Hotel Group in the Middle East and European market. With over a decade in the industry, he has focused on strategy, business excellence and business development. Prior to joining Viceroy's executive management team, Bawab spent four years with Mubadala's Real Estate & Hospitality team.


    Bawab started his career in the industry as a SixSigma Black Belt with Starwood Hotels and Resorts in Frankfurt Germany, then in Warsaw. Bawab then transitioned to manage the online distribution for the company's properties in Northern Italy. Following that he joined GHRS as Director of Business Development, leading the growth of the company in Europe. He then spent a year at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai as director of business excellence.

    Bawab holds a Bachelor of Sciences (Hons) degree in International Hospitality Management from the Swiss Hotel Management School, Les Roches in Switzerland. He also holds Master's of Business Administration degree from the Cranfield School of Management in the United Kingdom.

  • Kristie Goshow

    Kristie Goshow

    Senior Vice President, Commercial (Steering Committee)

    With over 18 years of experience in sales and marketing, Kristie Goshow is among the thought leaders in her field. Recently appointed to serve as Senior Vice President, Commercial, for Viceroy Hotel Group, the role created expressly for Kristie enables her to display an impressive range of experience that includes intimate knowledge of the airline, hotel representation, agency and travel technology fields. 


    Building on her entrepreneurial endeavors, including the launch of ‘Table4ME,’ the UAE’s first food and beverage distribution solution, Kristie then identified a challenging opportunity in the US as Vice President of Marketing for Sabre Hospitality Solutions; her purpose was clear - to imagine and then deliver the future of hospitality technology. Goshow excelled in senior roles at Jumeirah Group in the UAE, Le Méridien Hotels and Virgin Atlantic in the UK. A published author and regular speaker at industry conferences, seminars and events, Kristie previously served on the board of the Hotel Electronic Distribution Networking Association (HEDNA), held a seat on the Travolution Advisory board and performed the role of secretary for a Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International Chapter (HSMAI).

    Bryn Jedlic

    Senior Advisor (Steering Committee)

    Since joining the Viceroy Hotel Group in 2014, Bryn Jedlic has leveraged his global experience in residential, hospitality, retail and office real estate to advise the VHG leadership team and steering committee on key business decisions and corporate growth strategy. His Senior Advisor responsibilities also include supporting the business development team with hotel management agreements and deal structures.


    Previously, Jedlic was a Senior Advisor at Mubadala Real Estate and Infrastructure (MREI), a division of Mubadala Development Company, an investment firm owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi.  While at MREI, Jedlic held a number of senior management responsibilities, including overseeing profit and loss for all of MREI’s international real estate investments and global hospitality assets.  MREI’s landmark projects and investments include Abu Dhabi’s Al Maryah Island, containing Rosewood and Four Season hotels and The Galleria retail center, Viceroy Hotel Group, Medini Iskandar in Malaysia, the Park Lane Hotel in New York City and Viceroy Maldives. Jedlic also served on the board of directors of a number of Mubadala’s portfolio companies, including The John Buck Company in Chicago and PF Emirates, Poltrona Frau’s retail business in the United Arab Emirates.   Prior to joining MREI, Jedlic worked for close to a decade in the United States and Europe as a mergers and acquisitions attorney with Shearman & Sterling LLP, focusing on public company acquisitions in the media, travel, technology and energy sectors.

    He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto.

  • Jeff Smith, Senior Vice President of Finance

    Jeff Smith

    Senior Vice President of Finance (Steering Committee)

    As a member of Viceroy’s senior leadership team, Jeff oversees all aspects of our Corporate and Hotel based Accounting and Finance activities. Additional responsibilities include the oversight of Viceroy’s Risk and Compliance functions.


    With 25 years in hospitality, Jeff brings extensive knowledge to the group, having held senior leadership positions in Finance, Accounting and Operations. Early in his career he held positions within the Hospitality Division of  the B.F Saul Company as Regional Controller and General Manager, going on to work for Prime Hospitality in a Regional Vice President of Operations capacity. He later joined Tiburon Hospitality to hold CFO and Managing Director positions at their resort locations.

    Just before joining Viceroy, Jeff worked for the Intercontinental Hotels Group, holding roles as Director of Finance (oversight of 1,600 Franchised or Managed hotels across their Luxury, Upscale, Lifestyle, Midscale, Limited Service and Extended Stay Brands) and as a Director of FP&A for the America’s Region with responsibilities for their Owned, Managed and Franchised estate across 7 brands and 5 countries.

    Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and MBA from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

    Brenda Tscharner

    Senior Vice President, Human Resources (Steering Committee)

    Brenda Tscharner joined Viceroy Hotel Group in 2001. Her responsibilities include developing benefits and compensation plans, implementing successful recruiting, retention and training plans, overseeing succession planning, handling colleague relations, ensuring consistency and compliance within the company's human resources practices, and helping establish Viceroy Hotel Group as an "Employer of Choice."


    Tscharner brings an extensive level of luxury hospitality and human resources experience to the Executive Team. She spent the first 14 years of her career with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. She was a Corporate Trainer for the Company while holding the role of Director of Human Resources.

    Tscharner holds a B.A. Degree in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and completed her sophomore year at the University of California, Los Angeles. Tscharner is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management and also has participated in a number of leadership training programs through the Center for Creative Leadership in La Jolla, California.

    Mike Walsh

    Senior Vice President, Hotel Operations (Steering Committee)

    With a diverse hospitality career of more than 30 years, Mike brings a broad spectrum of industry knowledge and experience to Viceroy Hotel Group, including owner relations, strategic planning, hotel operations, pre-opening procedures, and renovation projects.


    Mike joined Viceroy in June 2015 as a member of the senior leadership team to oversee the collection’s properties in North America, South America, Caribbean and Mexico, where he will also spearhead new hotel openings.  

    Prior to joining Viceroy, Mike spent three years with Morgans Hotel Group as Regional Vice President, Northeast where he led the operations team and oversaw the asset management of five properties, including the Hudson in New York and the opening of Mondrian SoHo. Prior achievements include three years as the general manager of The Ritz Carlton, Philadelphia as well as opening The Ritz Carlton Residence of Philadelphia. He was with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts for 24 years, managing a multitude of hotel, resort, and timeshare properties plus residential components in the United States and the Caribbean.

    Mike earned a Bachelor of Science in hotel and restaurant administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He guest lectures at Penn State University, Widener University and was an adjunct professor at Temple University, School of Hospitality and Tourism teaching hotel operations and sales & revenue management.

    Peter Chambers

    Vice President, Information Technology

    When Peter began his hotel career in London, England nearly 20 years ago, it was love at first sight. With ITT Sheraton / Starwood Hotels & Resorts in the early days Peter involved himself in as many aspects of his new passion as possible from Food & Beverage, Room Operations and Hotel Management before dedicating himself to project work, technology and hotel renovations / openings.


    “I’m truly fortunate to blend hospitality and technology in my professional life so seamlessly,” says Peter. “This wonderful mixture of creativity, practicality, innovation and sheer fun provides me with the perfect balance and leaves me hungry for more every day.”

    After starting his hospitality journey in London and Europe, Peter relocated to Atlanta in 2001 to join the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company where he managed the technical renovation and opening of countless luxury properties from Asia to South America and everywhere in between.

    It was at the end of this exciting period that he pursued his entrepreneurial spirit and co-founded Combest Hospitality. Immediately successfully, his new venture married technical, project and technology design skills with hotel owners and developers looking to solve difficult problems and build the hotels of the future. Peter continued to provide his unique skill set to the market with Olio Consulting until 2011 when he chose to return to the management side of the business. After a thrilling year with the largest ski company in the US (Vail Resorts) he joined Viceroy Hotel Group as Vice President of Technology. Today Peter drives the technology strategy for the company and contributes to the overall growth and direction of the business as a Corporate Executive Committee Member.

    During his career, Peter has planned, managed and executed over 100 luxury hotel openings across the world. His unique perspective comes from the experience he has gained on “both sides of the table” in addition to his passion and knowledge for the business that he adores.

  • Sagar Desai

    Sagar Desai

    Vice President, Acquisition and Development

    Backed by his keen insight and expertise in real estate acquisitions, finance, hotel development and operations, Sagar Desai has spearheaded Viceroy’s thoughtful expansion in the Americas and the Caribbean since joining the team in 2008; closing flagship deals with shareholder capital, institutional funds and large-cap real-estate investment trusts. Recent developments under his leadership include Viceroy properties in Beverly Hills, New York City, Chicago, Miami, Anguilla, San Francisco and Cartagena.

    Sagar’s real estate career was jumpstarted while studying at New York University, earning his real estate license while brokering students apartments in the City. He moved on to work for Deutsche Bank in Global Management, Savanna Partners in Real Estate Private Equity and most recently he was part of the Real Estate, Gaming & Lodging Investment Bank Division at Bank of America Securities in New York City. Sagar ultimately decided to apply his expertise to the hospitality sector and hasn’t looked back ever since.

    Sagar holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Economics with a minor in Business and Philosophy, Cum Laude from New York University.

    Andrew Humphries

    Regional Vice President and General Manager, Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi

    Andrew’s rich hotel leadership and management career spans more than 30 years with luxury hotel brands in Europe, the Caribbean and the Middle East. Since joining the Viceroy Hotel Group in 2013, Andrew has overseen the day-to-day operations and commercial success of Yas Viceroy, Abu Dhabi, while managing the development of future Viceroy properties in Dubai, Algarve and Serbia.


    Andrew's leadership background includes 17 years with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, where he most recently served as Regional Vice President & General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies and managed the collection’s Caribbean developments, Four Seasons Miami and Four Seasons Palm Beach. Before then, he was responsible for opening the Four Seasons Amman, Jordan, where he served in the same capacity, in addition to managing the company’s Middle East properties in Damascus, Doha and Riyadh. His experience also includes leadership roles at Royal Pavilion & Glitter Bay Hotels in Barbados and the Savoy and Athenaeum Hotels in London.

    Andrew is originally from Jamaica and currently a British and Canadian citizen. He is fluent in French and earned a diploma in Hotel, Catering & Institutional Management from Bournemouth University in Dorset, UK.

  • Mike Paneri

    Michael Paneri

    Senior Vice President, Hotel Development

    With 25 years of experience in premier resort, hotel, hospitality and leisure project development worldwide, Michael Paneri brings an invaluable skill set to the Viceroy Hotel Group team. A licensed architect and seasoned corporate executive, Paneri has been overseeing the design and construction of various Viceroy Hotel Group projects including initial site assessment/project feasibility, business development and operational luxury hotel management since he joined in 2005.


    Most recently he headed his own firm, Michael Paneri Consulting, with projects including the renovation of New York's Plaza Hotel. Previously, Paneri was Vice President, Design & Construction for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. During his six-year tenure, he was a key member of the company's corporate leadership through a period of significant worldwide growth, and developed and administered Rosewood's luxury quality standards. Prior to Rosewood, Paneri was Director of the Board, Vice President and Senior Principal at Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo. During 14 years there, he managed some of WATG's largest resort, hotel, casino, retail and entertainment projects including The Venetian and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

    Paneri holds a BS in Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and studied Land Development & Management at University of California, Irvine. He is a licensed architect in California, Nevada and New Jersey, and is NCARB certified.

  • Hugh Templeman

    Hugh Templeman

    Regional Vice President & General Manager, Viceroy Snowmass

    Long lauded as a multi-faceted leader in the luxury lodging industry, Hugh Templeman now helms dual roles – leading the management team at Viceroy Snowmass and throughout the region.


    Leveraging 25 years working with global resort brands Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company and Mandarin Oriental, in managerial, sales and marketing roles, Hugh learned first-hand the nuances and charms of experiential luxury around the world, from Jakarta to Dublin.

    Hugh first joined the Viceroy Hotel Group as Director of Hotel Operations at the Viceroy Santa Monica in 2009, after serving as hotel manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Dublin and the executive assistant manager in the rooms division at The Ritz Carlton St. Louis.

    Hugh started his hotel career in the sales and marketing discipline receiving high recognition before transitioning into operations and was a founding member of the Ritz-Carlton Learning Institute.
